Dale Rumens-Partee
Cowboy Dressage
Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to be teaching and representing Cowboy Dressage at Best of the West. I’ll be offering a variety of classes, from groundwork and walk-only sessions to walk/jog, walk/jog/lope, and freestyle. Plus, I’ll be sharing some fun tips along the way! A Bit About Me Horses have been my passion since I was four years old. Over the years, I’ve competed in equitation, rail classes, endurance riding, Cowboy Dressage, and Working Equitation through L4, while also enjoying trail riding, ranch roping, and cattle work. Helping riders find their perfect equine partner—whether through lessons or horse shopping—is a core part of what we do. I’ve been involved in Cowboy Dressage since its inception, working closely with the founders to help write the dressage tests. Through Team Western Sky, we support both live and virtual competitions, helping riders of all levels succeed. Our program, based in Redmond, WA, focuses on developing a well-rounded partnership between horse and rider, ensuring safety, confidence, and success in any discipline. Why I Love FreestyleMusical Freestyle has been a passion of mine since the very first Cowboy Dressage show, and I’ve been honored to win many competitions as an Open Rider. We love helping riders choreograph and perform freestyles that tell a story—whether it’s about joy, courage, partnership, or personal triumph. Riding to music is an incredible experience, and we encourage riders to be creative, brave, and most importantly, to ride with joy! One of my favorite inspirations is Theodore Roosevelt’s The Man in the Arena, a powerful reminder that credit belongs to those who step into the ring and give it their all.I can’t wait to see you all at Best of the West at the Washington State Horse Park—let’s make it an unforgettable weekend! Learn more about me and Team Western Sky at www.westernskyhorsemanship.com. See you there!
